Trying to decide...your opinion matters!

The great "diaper clutch" debate. Which style is best? The other option is a draw string bag found in that post along with the diaper bags shown. What would you like best?

Option A: Long, rounded flap

Option 2: long, square-ish flap

Option 3: short flap

Option 4: skinny flap

Submit opinions please! I've roped my friend Jaimee into starting up an Etsy site with me, so hopefully soon our little "shop" will be up and running and this is one item I'm going to have on there. I realize there's hardly a difference between them, and I've probably spent far too much time analyzing this silly little bag, but humour me nonetheless. We also need a witty name...any suggestions?!?

Blue bag for a blogger babe

My friend, Ellen, an infamous woman in the blogger world, complimented my choice in fabric and is just generally nice, funny and always great to be with, so...she gets a bag.

New bike

Luke has been riding his tricycle to the park a lot lately, and we started feeling pretty badly for his big legs working so hard on those little pedals, so we went out and got him a big boy bike! Here he is, in action.

Luke called Samuel "potato face" the other day. Can you blame him? This is almost a daily occurrence!

This is a bag that I made for a friend of mine in Switzerland. It has taken me forever to finish as I kept messing up on the straps joining bag part and still didn't get it quite right, but it's better. This is the same material I made Jodi's bag from, and I just love the warm tones in here.This is my first bag made for someone I don't know. Intimidating! She seems very sweet, though, and I can't wait to meet her and give her this bag. I hope she likes it!It's not actually crooked, I just layed it out funny. I can sew, but not take pictures apparently!Side cell phone pocket...or whatever else you need easy access to.
Four inside elasticized pockets...two on each side (good bottle or sippy cup size) and two on the inside, side-by-side. Hope that makes sense!

Diaper clutch. I stole that name from somewhere (http://www.small-potatoes.com/) and the design from somewhere else (http://www.diapeesandwipees.com/). Is that wrong? Maybe next time I'll modify it slightly so it's not exactly the same. So, there's my first "for sale" bag! It's lined with interfacing and is quite sturdy. I feel like each bag I make is my new favorite...I used an ironing trick I learned from my sewing friend, Carla, and it really helped things look crisper and more even. Thanks Carla!

Two bags on the horizon...

Pictures to follow, the one is completely done but needs an adjustment in one spot (okay two) and the other is all cut out and will hopefully be put together tonight! I went a little nuts and bought a bunch of fabric the other day, so I suppose I'm officially in business! I have material enough for 6 bags, 2 of which are spoken for already...any takers?!? Feel free to pass this email on to others. My prices are as follows:
$60 - diaper bag with diaper clutch (small bag to put diapers and wipes in)
$50 - diaper/bigger style bag with no diaper clutch
$35 - hand bag (smaller version of the same thing)
$10 - diaper clutch
Sorry if the prices seem steep! I've done some comparing and this is reasonable in the hand crafted world...hard to get our minds away from mass-produced Chinese-made products though, I know! This is just a side hobby and I'm still not that fast and I buy expensive material, so hence the prices. Anyway, pass the info along to anyone you think may be interested. I've had a few people say I should try selling my bags so here I am! As time and energy permits, consider this another one of my part-time gigs :).
I will post pictures of the fabric available when I post the bag pics. All bags will now come with a front flap unless specified otherwise as well. I did that for my school bag and have quite enjoyed it, so that's a new edition to the Corinna Collection!!

Back to school bag

I have a job this fall as a very part-time teacher, and what was my first act (basically) in preparing for this venture?!? Why, making an appropriate bag of course! This weekend was a lazy long weekend around here and so Saturday was make-a-bag day for me. It was lovely. I brainstormed and planned, cut out material and sewed all in one day, and even got to bed before midnight. It was a sewing day to remember. I also managed to fix a bag I made for my Swiss friend, but I'm still not totally happy with one part of it so I don't think I'll post pictures of it yet. I'm starting to have standards for once in my life, and have actually been taking time to take things apart and redo them if I'm not happy. I know, I'm growing up, it shocks me too.

Okay, back to the school bag. I have to admit, I love this bag. This fabric is so great, and I told myself to take my time and do it WELL, as I want it to be sturdy and reliable for toting all my school stuff. I went with a flap on this one and lined the whole bag with interfacing to make it a bit stiffer and stronger, and I like those two changes quite a bit, for what I'll be using it for. There's a little cell phone pocket on the side, for my (thankfully) small cell phone as it is a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but it works! It's basically the same as my diaper bags except for being a bit wider and having a flap. I'd love any feedback on it, and how it compares to the others...I'm starting to get more interested in maybe selling these but it would only be on a small scale right now and I have no idea how I'd charge. It takes me quite a while to plan and cut and sew a bag, not to mention picking out fabric. But it is also such a fun hobby that I could see myself doing this more...anyway, here's the bag.

Side cell phone pocket...Four inside elasticized pockets, two on each end and a big one on one side divided in half. And then a front flat pocket, for my photocopies, etc.There I am, off to school! Don't worry, I'll change out of my jeans and sweatshirt first...
